Amanda joined the Family Tree many years ago as the daughter to Family Tree Doula Services owner, Sheryl. Becoming a Family Tree postpartum doula seemed natural after years of being the oldest child and providing sisterly support to foster babies and her brother with disabilities. She is a natural caregiver who has provided hospice level in-home care, other care to the elderly and in-home support to people with disabilities and mental illness.
Amanda is a professionally trained Postpartum Doula and Infant Care Specialist. She is a former instructor for Red Cross where she certified people in Adult and Pediatric First Aid and CPR and instructed up and coming babysitters in the Red Cross Babysitting Course. This background as an instructor inspired our Super Sibling Certification program which Amanda will be leading. She is a nanny for families with babies under one year old and is excited to provide the next level first year support as a postpartum doula. Amanda is also bilingual and speaks Spanish fluently.
Amanda values family and the hard work that it takes to create a strong family foundation. She is a firm believer in the importance of family bond and how that bond starts before birth. Amanda enjoys being a mother and wife and spending quality family time with her two children and her husband. She knows first hand how difficult the transition into motherhood can be and how vital it is to be supported during the postpartum period.
Family Tree Doula Services welcomes Amanda’s knowledge of breastfeeding, birth, postpartum and infant care. Amanda is an amazing cook and is a shoe-in for our Meal Preparation services. Amanda’s level of customer service is impressive. She pays attention to details and knows how to make things “just a little bit better” through her nurturing approach to support. We couldn’t be happier to bring Amanda’s talents and care to the Family Tree team.
"Sheryl and Amanda have been absolutely wonderful for our family as postpartum doulas. Having a child can be extremely stressful as a new family starts to adjust to the needs of a little one. Both Sheryl and Amanda came to our home open to learning our routines and providing guidance with new suggestions/ideas with out overwhelming us too much information as our baby transitioned into new stages. They always are considerate of our home and dive right in to providing care not just for our child but to us as a whole family. We've loved having them as part of our adventure as new parents." ~ M.T. - Lake Oswego, OR
